A founding member of rock duo The London Souls, Tash Neal has toured extensively in the US and internationally supporting some of the biggest names in rock from Slash, The Who, Gary Clark Jr., The Black Crowes, Tedeschi Trucks, and Lenny Kravitz to name a few.
A guitar player, singer, and songwriter based in Harlem, Tash Neal’s most recent projects include Slash’s Orgy of the Damned, a tribute album to iconic blues songs which spent 13 weeks at number one on the Billboard Blues Album Chart. And 365, a rock-rap collaboration with hip-hop mogul Damon Dash and rapper FreeWay.
After co-founding and fronting the rock duo The London Souls, Tash released his first solo project Charge It To the Game in 2021 featuring two songs produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. The album is deeply personal to Tash having been inspired by the horrific car accident he was involved in a decade ago when a taxi he was riding in was broadsided by an out-of-control drag racer. As a result of the crash he was placed in a medically-induced coma, had a piece of his skull removed, and underwent brain surgery.
Friends and family were warned that Tash's mental and physical capacities, not to mention his musical abilities, might be forever compromised. But not long after waking up, Neal recalls looking over at his father who had been keeping vigil by his bedside and gesturing to an acoustic guitar. Tash says, “My dad gave me the guitar and I played a couple chords and I was like, ‘All right, I’m good.’ For the first time since the accident I felt like myself again.”
